This Data Deletion Policy outlines the procedures for requesting and processing the deletion of personal data from Classroom by Marvlbyte ("the App"). This policy is in line with our commitment to comply with applicable data protection regulations and to respect our users' privacy rights.

1. User Rights to Data Deletion

Users of the App have the right to request the deletion of their personal data. This includes any information that has been provided by the user during registration, usage of the app, or other interactions with our services.

2. Requesting Data Deletion

If you would like to request the deletion of your personal data, please follow these steps:

  2. Include your account information (username, registered email address) and specify which data you would like to be deleted.

3. Data Deletion Process

Once a data deletion request is received and verified, we will:

  • Remove your personal data from our active databases.
  • Ensure that any backups or archived copies of your data are also deleted, where possible.
  • Confirm with you via email once the data has been successfully deleted.

4. Automatic Data Deletion

If your account is inactive for a prolonged period (e.g., 24 months), we may automatically delete your data in accordance with our data retention policy. You will be notified before this action is taken, giving you the option to retain your account if desired.

5. Method to Delete Data

Users can delete their data through the following methods:

  • Direct Account Deletion: Users can navigate to their account settings within the app and find the option to delete their account. Upon choosing this option, users will be prompted to confirm the deletion. Once confirmed, the account along with all associated data will be deleted from the active database. A confirmation email will be sent to the user.
  • Manual Request via Support: If the user prefers, they can manually request data deletion by contacting the support team. After verifying the request, the support team will manually delete the user’s account and data from the database and backups. A confirmation email will be sent to the user once the process is complete.
  • Retention Policy: User data is retained for the minimum period necessary, after which it is automatically deleted if the account remains inactive.

6. Exceptions to Data Deletion

There may be certain situations where we are unable to fully delete your data, including but not limited to:

  • Data that is required to comply with legal obligations.
  • Data necessary for resolving disputes or enforcing our terms of service.
  • Data that has been anonymized and cannot be linked back to the user.
